WELCOME to BERRYFIELD DRESSAGE
Our private 30-acre farm is nestled in the woods of Lincoln, MA with direct access to the Lincoln trail system. Berryfield has a long history as a horse farm. It was originally built in 1996 by Roberta and George Berry and served as the home for Friends For Tomorrow, run by Diane Lesneski. It has now been reimaged to a professional dressage facility with spacious paddocks, a heated indoor arena, and a full-size outdoor dressage arena.
Betsy Dangel, Owner & Athlete
Betsy’s lifelong dream has always been to gaze out her window at a lush landscape of flowers and trees and watch her horses grazing peacefully in the fields. In August 2021, she and her husband Gary Mitchell made Berryfield Farm their home and began the task of turning her dream into a reality. As an amateur-owner dressage rider, she earned her USDF bronze medal in 2022. Betsy is an avid enthusiast of the sport. Her vision for Berryfield Farm continues to evolve as she supports her love of all things equestrian.
In addition to the farm, Betsy is president of Investment Properties Ltd. and Gary owns the landmark Cambridge restaurant, the S & S. Together, they parent Betsy’s son, Alex. The family also includes Tatsu, their spirited flat-coated retriever, who enjoys nothing more than racing across the fields in pursuit of a ball
Callie O'Connell, Trainer & Athlete
Callie is a 2021 graduate of MassArt, where she earned her BFA in fashion design. Her senior thesis titled “Pas de Deux” was inspired by her love of dressage and ballet. Photos of Callie's designs are proudly displayed in the Berryfield indoor arena.
Callie began riding at age 5 and has been a passionate student of dressage since she was 8 years old. She is a bronze, silver, and gold USDF medalist with distinction and USDF Certified Instructor. Prior to joining Berryfield, Callie was a working student and assistant trainer for Jane Karol at Bear Spot Farm, from 2015-2021.
Callie’s goal with every horse is to build a relationship based on trust, allowing each horse to develop at a pace that matches both their physical and mental readiness.
